W.R.A.P. Art Exhibit Winners Announced

The Wisconsin Regional Artist Program (W.R.A.P.) made a stop at The Oconomowoc Performing Arts Center in Oconomowoc, WI.

 

The exhibit opened April 24 and ran until May 22, concluding with a

workshop presentation by artist Joyce Eesley of Milwaukee. The exhibit was sponsored by the Waukesha Creative Arts League and the University of Wisconsin Department of Liberal Studies and the Arts.

 

Exhibit coordinator Kathy Hosch and committee welcomed over

30 artists on May 22 for a breakfast snack and a final viewing of the exhibit before

continuing on to the large auditorium for the workshop.

 

State Award winners were: James Franecki (Hartland), Donna Miller (Madison), Beverly Fraker (Waukesha), Kathleen Hosch (Dousman), Pat Siok (Oconomowoc), Linda Steinlein (Oconomowoc), Julie Nusbaum (Menomonee Falls), Nancy Peterson (Waukesha), June Kilgren (Waukesha), and Kathleen Calhoun (New Berlin).

 

State Award winners may go to Madison for exhibit in the Pyle Center at the University of Wisconsin and will be judged again.

 

 

Honorable Mentions were Shirley Kroening (Waukesha), Jeanette Gruenke (New Berlin), Joan Jenquin (Oconomowoc), Shannon Finger (Wales), Margaret Schumann (North Prairie), Eunice Reep (Oconomowoc), Marceline Weinsheim ( Brookfield), Jean Pascek (Brookfield), Simone Rogina ( Menomonee Falls), and Valorie Schleicher (Wauwatosa).

 

Judging of the exhibit was conducted by Joyce Eesley a well-known Milwaukee artist.

 

People’ Choice winners elected by those present on the last day were:

 

1st place Kathy Hosch, “White Rose.”

 

2nd place Julie Nusbaum, “Mere Image.”

 

3rd place Jean Pascek, “A Bird in the Hand.”
