Ballet Studio E Announces Expansion into Waukesha County
The dance studio begun by a trained ballerina-turned school teacher, with dance programs backed by medical expertise, is expanding into Waukesha County.
New Berlin, WI, June 2010----Ballet Studio E, the Milwaukee area studio gaining national attention for their innovative, high caliber dance classes, is celebrating the upcoming 2010-2011 dance year with a major expansion into Waukesha county! Just announced, Ballet Studio E's sought after instruction and quality training will now be available in New Berlin.
Unparallelled in the state of Wisconsin and in the Midwest, Ballet Studio E is the only dance institution to incorporate academic content into their dance lessons, as well as being the only location of it's kind to develop a graded dance program based upon the expertise of medical professionals. Ballet Studio E is proud to be able to offer their elite dance education to the children of Waukesha county.
While still a dancer herself, Studio Director Hillary Evans researched and sought out the advice of medical experts specializing in dance and dance related injuries (orthopedic surgeons, podiatrists, sports therapists etc) to create a ballet program that cared for student's dancing bodies, catering to their different developmental needs. What resulted became the foundation for Ballet Studio E. With a ballet program informed by professional dance experience and the expertise of medical professionals, the studio forgoes the current methods of teaching ballet which have the potential to be damaging, and takes ballet training to another level entirely. With this innovative approach to dance training, the studio turns out strong, happy, technically proficient dancers.
In addition to their injury prevention approach to dance education, Ballet Studio E established another first by incorporating academic content into their ballet classes. As a classically trained ballet dancer with degrees in both dance and education, the studio director knew that the physicality and the history of ballet held a lot of educational value, with the ability to make connections to the math, science, literature and history that students learn in school. Evans says, “You can teach ballet, teach the steps, but there is so much more there to pull from, it seems a shame to ignore it. And when students are proven to engage more in the classroom when the topic is made relevant to what they love- so many children love to dance, why not show them that what they're learning in school can and does connect to dance?” And so the “DanceA'demic Program” was created as an integral part of Ballet Studio E's curriculum.
Ballet Studio E is excited to be able to open registration for the 2010-2011 dance year in New Berlin. The New Berlin location will offer a preschool program, ballet program, as well as jazz/tap combo classes and folk dancing. The studio is currently holding open registration for their Ballet Program for students ages three to six, as well as for their Folk Dance, and Jazz/Tap classes. Students interested in ballet who will be seven or older as of September 1st, 2010, must attend a placement audition on July 31st to determine their class level.
