Volunteer Opportunities in Waukesha County

July 15, 2010

Bike MS 2010: Join the Movement on August 7th & 8th for the full weekend, one day, or even a few hours! The ride begins at WCTC-Pewaukee Campus, overnight at UW-Whitewater and ends at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison. Multiple volunteer opportunities are available. A small sample of the opportunities are: route signage, bike loading & unloading, breakfast and lunch crew, party tent, registration, drivers and many more. Great opportunity for groups, families, and teens!

Home Meal Deliveries: Going the “Extra Mile” always has its own rewards! There is an URGENT need for home delivered meal drivers to help once or twice a month weekdays from 11:00am-1:30pm. Areas needing help are: Butler, Hartland, Menomonee Falls, New Berlin, Oconomowoc and Waukesha. Delivering a meal helps homebound seniors stay in their own homes longer.

Camp Yellow Ribbon: Looking for some extra community or service hours this summer? Come and volunteer for the children of our military service personnel at Camp Yellow Ribbon at Indian Mound in Oconomowoc on August 16-19, 2010. Go on a scouting mission to find bird species, participate in a camp water balloon fight, swim in the lake, fish, go on a canoe ride and much, much more! Hours vary any where between 9am-5pm depending on the day. Sponsored by Easter Seals Southeast Wisconsin.

Special Event Assistant: Healthy Families of Waukesha County would like you to help provide assistance at the following events: Spring Luncheon, Summer Picnic and Fall Fundraiser. Help identify sponsorship donations and raffle prizes. Assist children with games, prizes, face painting, crafts or provide an activity.
