Music Club Installs 2010-2011 Officers

After sharing the art of music for the past century, the MacDowell Club of Milwaukee continues to provide performing opportunities for local musicians and to acquaint the public with their number of excellence.

 

Now in its 101st year, Mequon's Enid-Ann Bootzin Berkovits (pictured), a music therapist, soprano and choral director, has been elected President of the organization. She succeeds Dr. Dennis W. King, a classical saxophonist and Chair of the Music Department at Cardinal Stritch University, who becomes Board Advisor.

 

Other newly installed officers are Vice-President of Programs, soprano Sally Lane Schwarz

of Menomonee Falls; Vice-President of Special Events, organist Suzanne Pajunen of Wauwatosa; Treasurer, soprano Marguerite Greinke of Brookfield; Recording Secretary, mezzo-soprano Christine O'Meally of Wauwatosa; and Corresponding Secretary, clarinetist Gail Hodkiewicz of Hales Corners.

 

The Board of Directors also includes pianist Kay Augustine of Milwaukee, Hospitality Chair;

guitarist Peter Baime of Glendale, Member-at-Large; retired arts adiministator/violinist Thallis Hoyt Drake of Milwalukee, Publicity Chair; flutist/aesthetist Ana de la Cuesta Gerlach of Bay View, Archival Chair, and Lynn (Rusti) Moffic of Fox Point, musician and actress, House Chair.

 

The season' public performances by members of the Club are being arranged for the following Sunday afternoons: October 24, November 14, January 9, February 20, March 13 and May 22. Locations and details of the concerts will be announced at the Club's Annual Meeting Luncheon at 1 P.M. Sunday, September12, at Cardinal Stritch University,

and on the organization's website: macdowellclubmilwaukee.org.
