PIANO CONCERT APRIL 18, 2010
Pianist Marjorie Bliese Gluckstein will present a concert, with commentary, on April 18, 2010 at 4:00 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Church West, 13005 West North Avenue in Brookfield. The program will span music from the 17th through 20th centuries, including works by Alessandro Scarlatti, Johann Sebastian Bach, George Frederick Handel, Franz Liszt, Frederic Chopin, Johannes Brahms, Robert Schumann, Maurice Ravel, and Aram Khatchatourian. Light refreshments will be served following the concert.
A resident of Brookfield, Ms. Gluckstein received her Bachelor of Music degree, cum laude, from Lawrence University, where she was a student of Gladys Ives Brainerd, and her Master of Music from the University of Michigan, where she studied with Benning Dexter.
The concert is sponsored by the Church's West of 50 group as a community service. A free-will offering to benefit the Church's music programs will be taken. Signed copies of Ms. Gluckstein's CD, which includes some of the works performed at the concert, will be on sale. A portion of the proceeds will also benefit the Church's music programs.
