The Pewaukee Astronomy Club is proud to present amateur astronomer Greg Buchwald who will talk about the many solar eclipses he has seen. Sites Greg has visited include the Galapagos Islands, Venezuela, Zambia, Libya and Australia. He is preparing to watch the July 11 eclipse from Easter Island. Greg will be sharing video and images along with his first hand accounts of day turning to night under the shadow of the moon!
Aside from chasing eclipses, Greg is a volunteer at Yerkes Observatory in Williams Bay, – home of the world’s largest refracting telescope (40”). He was part of a team of amateurs to have found pre-discovery images of Pluto on archival photographic plates taken at Yerkes in 1909.
The talk will be at the Pewaukee Public Library Harken Observatory on Saturday, March 13th at 7PM. The event is free, open to the public and family friendly.
