The Hamilton High School Varsity Cheerleading team placed fifth among 42 of the country’s best teams in its division at the National High School Cheerleading Championship. The competition, organized by the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) and considered the most prestigious cheerleading championship in the U.S., was held Feb. 13 and 14 at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. It will be televised on ESPN and ESPN2 this spring to more than 100 million homes and in 32 countries. The Hamilton Charger Cheerleaders competed in the Medium Varsity Division I category.
The team is coached by Karen Welch and Courtney Joers.
