The Friends of the Brookfield Public Library will be hosting three-time space shuttle astronaut and author Mike Mullane. This event will take place on Tuesday, March 9, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. His presentation, entitled “Countdown to a Dream” , is geared for all ages. Colonel Mullane presents an intriguing inside view of exactly what astronauts experience aboard the shuttle. Equally intriguing is the story of his journey to becoming an astronaut. He shares how he wasn’t academically gifted, wasn’t a star athlete, wasn’t popular. The message is, you don’t have to be a superstar to achieve great things. His life experience clearly demonstrates how everything we do matters and counts. Join us for his inspiring message. Autograph session and opportunity to purchase his books will follow the presentation.
This event is free and open to the public. Reservations are requested as space is limited. For more information and to make reservations please contact the Brookfield Public Library Children’s Reference Desk in person, or by calling 262-782-4140 ext. 2.
