VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES IN WAUKESHA COUNTY:
Newspaper Researcher: If you love journalism HOPE Network, Inc. in Menomonee Falls needs you to assist the editor with researching information for an agency newsletter that helps single mother families! Must be 18 or older, a self starter, very accurate and works well independently from home on your own computer!
Be a Youth Sports Volunteer: If you love sports and want to make a difference in a child’s life, the Waukesha Family YMCA could use you to coach, referee and be a sports instructor for a variety of sport leagues during the year! Must be 18 or older, have a basic knowledge of sports and able to develop positive relationships with children and adults. They will provide training and materials along with lots of encouragement and support!
Saturday Entertainment Opportunity: Brookfield Rehab needs adults, teens and even families to help transport residents to and from entertainment within their facility every Saturday afternoon from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. If you are able to push a wheelchair for a moderate distance, come enjoy the entertainment and build meaning relationships!
2010 Bradford Beach Polar Plunge: Special Olympics Wisconsin has many spots open on March 6 from 8:00am to 3:00pm that need to be filled to make the Polar Plunge a success are registration, shuttle bus greeter, setup, entertainment tent, surveys, souvenirs and clean-up! Must be 14 or older and dressed for the weather (all positions are outside). A brief training session will be provided in the morning of event.
