Volunteer Opportunities available in Waukesha County

Receptionist/General Clerical: Volunteers are needed at United Way in Waukesha County to provide general clerical and receptionist duties. Clerical tasks include answering phones, greeting visitors, sorting & distributing mail, filing, making photocopies and assisting with bulk mailings. Must be 18 or older, have a professional appearance, good communication and Microsoft computer skills, data entry experience and available weekdays between 9:00 am -2:00 pm, August through December.

 

Service Center Assistant: Assist the Waukesha Family YMCA staff members greet members, guests and welcome all who enter their facility. Service Assistants will also verify membership, sell day passes, provide directions, answer questions about the facility and programs and assist with laundry. Must be 18 or older, have a cheerful, outgoing and friendly attitude, be able to stand for a period of no more than 4 hours and available Monday through Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm or Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. You may work one day or all four. Detailed training is provided at time of placement.

 

Noon Meal Delivery: The Aging and Disability Resource of Waukesha County needs volunteers to deliver meals prepared at senior centers during the lunch hour. Must be 18 or older, have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance and available once a week, once or twice per month from 10:45 am to 12:45 pm in Waukesha, Butler, Hartland, Menomonee Falls, Mukwonago, Muskego, Berlin, Oconomowoc and Sussex. Training and mileage reimbursement will be provided.

 

Fox Brook Park Family Day Helpers: On Friday, Sept. 25th six local older adult day care centers are planning a large group outing at Fox Brook Park in Brookfield for their clients and family members. Volunteers are needed to help with decorations, set-up, serving the meal, activities, and clean-up. Volunteers (20-30) are needed from 8:00 am-1:00pm; second shift (20-30) is needed from 12 pm to 4:00 pm. Many hands are needed to make this a very special day for all involved. Minimum age requirement is 18 years and older. Groups large and small are invited to volunteer.
