The first place winner of the 43rd Waukesha County Courthouse Art Contest will be awarded $350. In addition, the artist’s work will become part of the permanent exhibit at the Courthouse. Second Place and Honorable Mentions will receive cash awards as well.
The purpose of the Courthouse Art Contest is to showcase Waukesha County artists. It is co-sponsored by the Courthouse and the Waukesha Creative Arts League. The contest is open to any Waukesha County non-professional artist 18 years and older. A non-professional artist is defined as anyone earning less than 50% of her/his annual income from art related activities.
Artwork entries must be original and may be two or three dimensional. No kits, crafts or copies of originals will be accepted. The entrance fee of $15 includes up to two pieces. To ensure maximum exposure for all artists, one artwork from each person will be shown with the winners for the entire month of October. Registration deadline is September 18. Late entries will not be accepted.
Entry blanks are available at many Waukesha County Libraries, galleries and businesses or can be obtained by calling Margaret Schumann, 262-392-3131 or Eunice Reep, 262 569-0702.
