Milwaukee/NARI Tour of Remodeled Homes Partners With The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County

May 1, 2014

The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County will team up with the Milwaukee/NARI Home Improvement Council, Inc. and the association’s annual TOUR of Remodeled Homes, scheduled for Sat., May 17 – Sun., May 18, 2014.

TOUR attendees can receive $2 off the regular admission price of $7 when they bring two non-perishable food items to the first location they visit.

The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church established in London in 1865, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination for 130 years in the United States. Nearly 30 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through the broadest array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. Approximately 84 cents of every dollar spent is used to support those services in 5,000 communities nationwide.

In the Milwaukee area during 2013, more than 723,000 people were served, with over 300,000 meals provided to more than 40,000 people. Shelter was made available to 1,000 individuals, plus assistance was given to help them find jobs.

The TOUR of Remodeled Homes, sponsored by Kohler Co., First Supply, a leading Kohler wholesale distributor, VerHalen, The Pella Window Store, and Hallmark Building Supplies, Inc., is from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. both days.
