United Way Connects the Community to Volunteer Opportunities
(November 20, 2012) – Waukesha, WI – United Way in Waukesha County would like to invite volunteers to the following opportunities:
Christmas Office Opportunity, Christmas Clearing Council, Waukesha
Christmas Clearing Council of Waukesha Country works to provide Christmas to children in need in our community. We fill our files in the fall with the names children whose families are struggling and who have been qualified by agencies and schools. We then match them with sponsors (individuals, businesses, clubs, and organizations) who commit to spending a minimum of $60.00 on items on the child's wish list. Our offices are open seasonally from mid-October - mid-December. We staff three volunteers from 9:00-12:00 and three from 12:00-3:00 five days a week for the 9 week season. Volunteers answer phone calls from people who wish to help others for Christmas, match them with the families in need, write up the matches, help with mailings, filing and other office duties. Requirements: Volunteers must be a minimum age of 18 years and older. We will train you at the CCC offices on the various projects.
Child Care, Parents Place, Waukesha
Have fun playing with children! We are looking for volunteers at Parents Place in Waukesha to watch the children of parents attending parenting classes or support groups in the same building. Volunteers are needed in the evening during parenting classes being held on Monday thru Thursday between 5:30-8:00pm. A commitment of 2 weeks or more, one night a week or more, is requested.
