VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES IN WAUKESHA COUNTY:

Adult Day Center Caring Companion, Catholic Charities
Are you looking for a meaningful opportunity where you can share your compassion and learn about another person? Consider volunteering in our Adult Day Center, as one of our Caring Companions. Visit with program participants, read, talk about life experiences and encourage them to participate in activities. Volunteers are asked to commit to one visit per week, 2-4 hours in length. Visit times are Monday-Friday, from 8:30-4:30. This opportunity is located in New Berlin.

Provide a Meal for a Group, Parents Place
We are looking for meal providers on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at 5:00pm. The meal will serve low-income families prior to a group they will attend at Parents Place. This family meal for Thursday serves between 30 - 40 people. The meal will be served at 5:30pm. Please call ahead to reserve your place on our schedule. We also need donations of juice and snacks for other group meetings. Families are welcome, boy scouts, churches or anyone wanting to make a difference. Waukesha location.

Costumed Historic Gardener, Old World Wisconsin

Volunteers are needed to role-play as historic gardeners at Wisconsin's largest living history museum! Volunteer historic gardeners will assist with planting, maintaining & harvesting crops at fifteen historic ethnic vegetable gardens on our grounds. Volunteers will dress in costumes, provided by our facility, and utilize 19th Century tools/techniques to maintain the gardens. Volunteers are needed from May-October, during museum hours. Volunteers must be a minimum of 16 years old and complete an application process that includes a background check. Located in Eagle, Wisconsin.

Donation Center Assistant, Safe Babies Healthy Families
Share your friendly spirit with pregnant young women or young families who will be coming to our Donation Center in downtown Waukesha, which is supplied with donations both new and gently used. The young women and families in our program participate in our Earn As You Learn program. As they earn Baby Bucks, they are invited to come to the Center to shop for items they need for their baby or child. We need two people to oversee the Center when it is open and to monitor the "shopping". Hours will be determined by availability of volunteers. There will be a brief training and orientation. A volunteer application including a Background check will be completed prior to the training.
