The following April 29-May 5, 2012 courses are offered through University of Wisconsin–Waukesha Continuing Education, 1500 N. University Drive, Waukesha, WI. 53188.

Writing Poetry
Instructor, Margaret Rozga
One of our most popular classes and instructor provides a club-like atmospheric class. New and returning students will enhance their poetry skills. Bring a sample of your work to the first class.

Assisted Review in Math (ARM)
Instructors: Kurt Vanderhoef, Adam Figarsky
Nervous about Math? Need Help? No need to Stress! Be prepared before leaving for College! The Assisted Review in Math (ARM) is an ALEKS-based math workshop meant for college bound students who feel that they need some assistance or have not taken math for a while. This workshop can help you to brush up on much needed math skills and prepare you to take (or retake) the college math placement test, so you can place more accurately in your first semester and save time and money. ALEKS is an artificially intelligent program that can be accessed online and will create a training path customized to your individual math needs. Start with a pre-test to determine your skill level and take a post-test to see your level of improvement!

Increase your photography skills! Build a book. Create a collage. Learn how to crop, layer or colorize with the many tools available to you in Photoshop Elements 8. Activities and projects are always changing making each class unique. Photoshop or Photoshop Elements on your home computer is helpful. Great for beginners!

Introducing Flash CS5
Instructor, Brian Oswald
Ready, set, animate! Start with a basic movie with objects you draw di-rectly in Flash and move on to animating images that we import. Learn how to use the sound and digital video in your Flash movies, and create and animate 3-D objects. Sync sounds with animations, insert special effects and publish your Flash movies to the internet.

Future Engineers (Ages 11-14)
Instructor, Tom Staude
A state of the art, programmable, intelligent brick serves as the brain for LEGO NXT. With four input ports for taking in data and three output ports for following your programmed commands, students learn how to power their own robot. Their imagination is the only limitation to this class! Please bring a lunch.
