at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital Auditorium, 19333 West North Ave, Brookfield, WI.
(January 31, 2011) A Catholic priest, Unitarian minister, Mormon leader and a Methodist pastor walked into a bar and asked, “What is the meaning of life?”
Imagine that scenario – minus the setting – and you’ll have a good idea of the lively conversation to take place on Thursday, February 2 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Brookfield-Elm Grove Interfaith Network (BEGIN) Forum at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital Auditorium, 19333 West North Ave, Brookfield, WI.
Father Philip Bogacki, the Rev. Suzelle Lynch, Glen Allgaier and the Rev. Richard Strait will speak on the question of the meaning of life from their religious tradition’s perspective, followed by time for questions and answers.
The Brookfield-Elm Grove Interfaith Network (BEGIN) offers these forums to help promote a culture of respect and dialogue in the Brookfield-Elm Grove area. The group began meeting in 2001, and offers an annual interfaith gathering at Thanksgiving as well as regular meetings where interfaith representatives or leaders can connect and learn from one another. According to Interim BEGIN Convener, Mary Janowak, “BEGIN’s work has to do with sharing, learning, and where possible, working toward common purposes. We seek to connect across lines of difference, and build mutual understanding and respect -- and to model that kind of relationship-building and working-together for our wider Brookfield-Elm Grove community.”
The Interfaith Forums are free and open to the public.
