Registration Open for “Moving Forward” Cycling Event October 10

Aug. 31, 2010 | 0 comments

Registration is open for the second annual Moving Forward: Ride/Walk/Fun Run for Parkinson’s on Sunday, October 10, 2010, held in Dousman, Wisconsin.

From experienced to novice cyclists, all are invited to join this experience of a lifetime and to help raise awareness for Parkinson’s disease. Additionally, money raised from the event will benefit the Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Program and the Davis Phinney Foundation.

The ride consists of a 10-, 30- or 100-mile bike ride into lake country in Dousman. If biking is not your style, but you still wish to come out and show your support, there is a 5K fun run and a two-mile walk on the Glacial Drumlin State Trail starting at 11 a.m. Food, festivities, and kids’ activities will take place at Bicycle Doctor in Dousman, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Register at http://dpf.kintera.org/movingforward or call 1-800-272-3666. Detailed bike routes and pledge forms are also available on-line. Registration is $45 for individual riders and $20 for an individual walker or $40 for families of any size.

Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin combine the strengths of Froedtert Hospital and The Medical College in an academic medical center that delivers advanced medical care. Froedtert & The Medical College are nationally recognized for exceptional physicians, research leadership, specialty expertise and state-of-the-science treatments and technology.
