ARC of Greater Milwaukee Receives a Three Year $30,000 Grant

Aug. 13, 2010 | 0 comments

The Stackner Family Foundation awarded ARC of Greater Milwaukee (ARC) a $30,000 grant over the next three years to support high school students with developmental disabilities and their families. The generous gift will fund ARC’s Education and Transition Program, which supports young adults as they transition from high school services to community living.

“The Stackner Family Foundation’s long-time commitment to individuals with developmental disabilities is truly appreciated! We are so grateful for their continued support and desire to help young adults with disabilities achieve their dreams,” said Vicki Spataro Wachniak, executive director.

ARC’s Education and Transition Program is a collaborative program that works with students, parents and school districts to provide services including futures planning, educational advocacy and self-advocacy training programs. ARC works with 15 area school districts throughout the greater Milwaukee area, including Milwaukee Public Schools, which has over 19% of their student population enrolled in Special Education programming.
