Brookfield Central’s Nic Veling won the Lancers’ only title and Central finished 10th out of 13 teams in the TKO-Terry Open scoring 76.5 points Saturday at Fort Atkinson.
Slinger won the event with 212 points, beating out Waterford (184) for the title.
Veling had the best day for Central, taking first at 182 pounds and scoring 26 team points. Veling had three pins (3:57, 1:03, 1:16) and then won a 4-3 decision and a 6-1 decision.
Matt Wilcox and Tom Hughes each finished fourth. Wilcox scored 16 team points on three pins (1:45. 4:26, 0:59) and a 9-2 decision. Hughes at 145, had 13.50 team points. He won a decision (9-5), won on a technical fall (17-0), lost by a pin (3:16), won by a pin (3:03) and won by a decision (8-3).
Josh Peltier at 120 was fifth and scored eight team points. He lost by a pin (1:52) and a decision (2-0), received a bye, won a major decision (8-0) and won by a decision (5-2). Both Nick Olsen at 113 (10 team points) and Matt Wilcox at (eight team points) finished sixth. Josh Mokwa at 195 took eighth (3.0).
