Jr. Lancers set girls basketball tryouts

The 2012 girls Junior Lancers Basketball tryouts have been scheduled for the middle of September at Wisconsin Hills.

Fourth-grade tryouts are set for Sept. 17 and the fifth-grade tryouts are scheduled for Sept. 19. Both tryouts are scheduled from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The sixth-grade tryouts are set for Sept. 19, and from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The seventh- and eighth-grade tryouts are Sept. 21 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. for seventh-graders and from 6:30 to 8 p.m. for the eighth-graders.

All players should arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled tryout time to register and receive tryout numbers. Third graders are also encouraged to try out for the fourth-grade team.

Gosz basketball camps coming up soon

The Jim Gosz July Area Basketball Camps are coming up July 16-19 at St. Leonard School, Muskego, and July 23 to 26 at Blessed Sacrament School.

Former Milwaukee Brewers set baseball camp

The 11th annual Menomonee Falls Baseball Camp is set for July 16 to 19 at the Menomonee Falls Little League Complex.

The camp is run by former Milwaukee Brewers Don August and Jim Gantner, and it will be from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for the four days.

Ages 8 to 12 will be on the lower fields and ages 13 and above will be on the upper fields.

Dundun Freshman Skills Soccer Camp set in July

The Dundun Freshman Skills Soccer Camp is set for July 23 to 26 for players entering the ninth grade in the fall.

Brookfield East coach Herbie Dundun will run the camp at Brookfield East, where there are five spacious natural grass fields for players to practice and enhance skills.

The camp will run from 5 to 7 p.m. Campers should bring a ball, water, cleats and shin guards.

The cost is $90 per session and is open to the first 40 applicants. (Players from other schools may attend.)

The camp's main focus is to help players improve their skills with the ball.
