Nashleanas named to All-North Region team

Former Brookfield East star Laren Nashleanas was one of three University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer players named to the 2012 NSCAA Division III Women's All-North Region team.

Nashleanas, a junior defender who was also a first team all-conference pick, rounds out the group with a third team honor. The junior was credited with five goals this season and helped the Warhawks to the second best goals against average in the WIAC and the most shutouts in the league.

The Warhawks earned an automatic berth into the NCAA tournament after winning the WIAC championship and the league's postseason tournament championship. UWW advanced to the round of 32, in the national tourney, finishing the season 16-5-1 overall, including an 8-0 mark in WIAC play.

Rohr named to MVFC All-Newcomer Team

Former Brookfield Central tight end Sam Rohr of Northern Iowa University was named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Newcomer Team.

Rohr started six games and played in 11 as a redshirt freshman. He finished the year with 202 yards and two touchdowns. He averaged 18.4 yards a game and 22.4 yards a reception.

Soccer HOF Induction Feb. 9 at Harley-Davidson Museum

The fourth annual Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held Feb. 9 at the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee.

Socializing and networking begins at 5 p.m. with the ceremony at 6 p.m.

This year's inductees include Hayden Knight, Dave Scherer, Jerry Panek and Pete Knezic. This year, the WSCA will also be inducting its second memorial inductee Laura Moynihan. All are among the most successful coaches ever in Wisconsin's rich history of soccer coaches. All have contributed at all levels of coaching ranging from youth to high school and college.

Tickets can be purchased for $40 for WSCA members and $45 for nonmembers. Half tables of four can be purchased for $160 and full tables of eight can be purchased for $320.
