The Brookfield Lacrosse club team beat Verona, 14-6, on Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-
Whitewater. Junior Morgan Hollowell (attack) and senior Grace Barlow (midfield) were named first-team All-State. On a side note, Brookfield East senior student-athlete Erica Engstrand, a member of the team, has played on three state champions this year, also winning in skiing and tennis.

Here is a tip of the hat to a short-handed, but gutsy Brookfield East girls soccer team, which beat a heavily-favored Brookfield Central in a shootout, 4-2, on June 7 in the sectional semifinals and then battled heavily-favored Divine Savior Holy Angels on Saturday before losing, 2-0, in the finals.
