IN A PINCH
Greg Dati was supposed to officiate the Brookfield Central-Tosa East game at Central on Friday, but had to bow out because of a bad back. Good thing for the Lancers he stuck around to watch the game. With three minutes left, one of the officials working the game hurt his knee and had to sit out. The WIAA doesn't allow a game to continue with one official, so Dati, who was in the stands, suited up and finished the game after a 10-minute delay.
4 Dunks in a game by Brookfield Central senior Seth Mortag on Friday night in a 60-50 win over Wauwatosa East was a first for me in my 10 years of covering prep sports. However, veteran NOW Newspapers scribe Steven L. Tietz said he saw senior Zak Showalter of Germantown dunk five times in a game this season.
