SKY'S TAKE

April 4, 2012

AND THEY'RE OFF

With the Greater Metro Conference Indoor Championships this past Tuesday and Wednesday, the outdoor track season begins. For me that brings back memories of throwing the shot in high school. My personal record was 24 feet, 4 inches. I remember the girls sprinters picking the shot up and throwing it back over my head. I figured this wasn't for me.

1,019 The final career point total for Brookfield Central senior forward Seth Mortag, putting him third on the school's all-time scoring list behind Charlie Jack (1,966) and Bob Wi lle (1,965).

OF THE WEEK

I'm going with two winners this week. The Brookfield Central girls soccer team got off to a 2-0 start, outscoring its opponents, 7-1. The other winner is the Brookfield Academy baseball team, which started the year by winning its first three games.
