The Brookfield Central boys and girls ski teams are off to different starts through the first three weeks of the season.
The boys' teams had three second-place finishes and the girls are rebuilding and have been near the bottom of the pack.
The boys have three seniors in Jack Peterson (returnee), Ryan Tuck (returnee) and Dylan Goetzke on the roster, along with juniors John Heal, Eric Anderson and Thomas Markey.
Peterson has been in the top five in each of the first three races, with a third-place performance in slalom on Jan. 11 at Sunburst being his best.
Returnee Ellie Hynes is the only senior on the girls' team. Juniors are Claire Everson, Caroline Treis, Brenna Mulock, Shawna Mulcahy and Elissa Evanich and Katie Collins is the only freshman.
The girls lost five players from last year's team. Hynes' top finish was an eighth-place performance in slalom on Jan. 11 at Sunburst.
