The Brookfield East girls and boys finished second and third, respectively, in the first slalom race of the year at Alpine Valley on Jan. 11.
Some of the top skiers in the state took part in the meet as Arrowhead, Cedarburg, Mukwonago and Whitefish Bay joined the Spartans.
Michael Amato and Erica Engstrand both smoked the field taking first place individually.
Erica's 67.15 combined time helped lead the girls to second place with Hailey McKenna and Claire Procknow finishing 11th and 12th.
Amato's combined time of 62.36, led the way for the boys' third-place finish overall. Michael Wolf finished ninth with Jack Kemnitz and Max Termuehlen rounding off the roster and finishing 20th and 23rd, respectively.
