The Brookfield Barracudas ended a good week by winning the Shorewood Invitational on Saturday after beating Waukesha West/Mukwonago in a dual meet two days before.
The Barracudas whipped Waukesha West/Mukwonago on Jan. 12 at Brookfield East to start the week.
Brookfield won eight of the 12 events.
The 200-yard medley relay of Tyler Patt, Jeffrey Tang, Dean Zheng and Mitch Douglas won in 1 minute, 55.33 seconds; the 200 freestyle relay of Brian Borden, Joe Bauer, Douglas and Erik Wahlgren (1:32.72) and the 400 free relay of Borden, Zheng, Bauer and Wahlgren (3:26.67) also finished first.
Wahlgren was a double individual winner in the 50 free (22.72) and 100 free (49.04) and William Sass won the 1-meter diving with 255.50 points.
Other individual winners were Zheng in the 100 butterfly (58.81); Michael Flatley in the 500 free (5:10.90) and Borden in the 100 backstroke (56.01).
Second-place finishers were Borden in 200 free (1:50.11), Flatley in the 200 individual medley (2:10.66); Bauer in the 50 free (23.69) and Patt in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.42).
The Barracudas scored 374 points to roll past the Greyhounds (344) and win the 10-team Invitational. Here is a look at the top three finishers.
Sass in the 1-meter diving (397.40), Wahlgren in the 50 free (22.30) and 100 free (48.82), the 200 free relay of Borden, Bauer, Douglas and Wahlgren (1:30.82) and the 400 free relay of Flatley, Zheng, Borden and Wahlgren (3:24.29) all took first.
Borden was first in 100 breaststroke (1:02.70) and second in the 200 IM (2:03.08), Flatley in the 200 free (1:55.50) and Zheng in the 100 fly (59.35) were each third as was the 200 medley relay of Bauer, Patt, Zheng and Douglas (1:48.75).
"We had a rough day as a team," coach William Twitchell said. "Fortunately we had solid performances out of Erik Wahlgren, William Sass and Dan Lee. This type of meet rewards the depth of the team and we had just enough."
