It was a good week for the Brookfield Stars, who won three games to extend their winning streak to eight games (13-7, 4-1).
The Stars outscored their opponents, 14-7, the last two wins of the week being non-conference contests.
The Stars began the week Jan. 24 with a comeback, 5-4 overtime win against Arrowhead (2-2, 8-9) in a Classic 8 game at The Ponds of Brookfield.
Matt Fosdick scored two goals, including the game-winner 33 seconds into overtime, and added an assist to lead the scoring. Patrick O'Brien had a goal and an assist and Carter Jenkins and Robbie Fosdick each had a goal.
Max Hoffman had two assists, including one on the game-winner, while P.J. Corbett and Brandt Rogers each had an assist.
Jenkins' goal (10:20) was the Stars only score in a 1-1 first period, but goals by O'Brien (Corbett, Matt Fosdick) and Robbie Fosdick (Hoffman, Rogers) gave Brookfield a 3-1 lead in the second period.
But Arrowhead added three second-period goals to take a 4-3 advantage going into the final period.
But Matt Fosdick scored at 13:18 (O'Brien) of the third period to tie the game and send it into overtime, and then he scored the game-winner (Hoffman) at the 33-second mark.
The Stars then jumped off to a quick start and rolled to an easy non-conference win over the Germantown co-op, 5-2, on Jan. 26 on the road.
In the win over Germantown the next night, Rogers and O'Brien each had a goal and an assist, while Corbett, Jenkins and Matt Fosdick each scored.
Drew Owen and Tommy Hastings each had two assists, while Mason Kollakowsky, Zak Pipers and Robbie Fosdick each had one.
The Stars scored three first-period goals by Corbett (O'Brien), Matt Fosdick (Kollakowsky, Hastings) and Rogers (Pipers, Owen).
Germantown scored first in the second period, but Jenkins (Robbie Fosdick, Owen) and O'Brien (Rogers, Hastings) closed out Brookfield's scoring. Germantown added a meaningless goal in the third period.
The Stars ended the week on Friday at The Ponds of Brookfield with a 4-1 win over Cedarburg. Brookfield and Cedarburg exchanged goals in the first period - Robbie Fosdick scored at 4:31 on a power play (Hoffman/Matt Fosdick) and Cedarburg countered with its only goal at 5:52.
But Brookfield added three goals to win easily. Matt Fosdick scored at 11:23 of the first period (Kollakowsky/Rogers) to take the lead for good at 2-1.
After a scoreless second period, the Stars scored at 13:12 of the third period as Corbett scored ( Dan Carlson/O'Brien) and 14:32 on a shot by Hoffman (Jenkins).
