Brookfield East's wrestling team finished the 2009-10 season with the Greater Metro Conference Wrestler of the Year, five GMC champions, two GMC runners-up, and four WIAA Division 1 state qualifiers.

East was led by 125-pounder Justin Wolfenden's hardware-filled year. Wolfenden finished second at the state tournament after he won the conference title, earned wrestler of the year and was named team MVP.

Joey Woppert (145 pounds), Kevin Dentino (130), Larry Watson (160) and Tyler Lecher (215) all earned first place at the GMC Tournament while Casey Dentino (103) and Andy Wanta (140) finished second.

Watson, Casey Dentino and Woppert qualified for the WIAA Division 1 State Tournament; Woppert finished fourth.

East took second in conference, regionals and sectionals. The team was victorious at the Sheboygan North Raider Invitational on Jan. 23.
