Feb. 22, 2010 | 0 comments

The Spartans ran into a buzzsaw Friday and fell, 71-44, to host Divine Savior Holy Angels in a Greater Metro Conference game.

The Dashers had a 21-7 lead after the first quarter and improved to 12-7 overall and 11-1 in the conference. East fell to 5-7, 8-11.

Laren Nashleanas led the Spartans with 12 points, and Marley Blood had 11. Valerie Jach added nine.

The Spartans fared better in a 44-39 victory at Waukesha West in a nonconference game Feb. 16. Blood led the way with 22 points and Nashleanas scored 11 as the visitors opened a 20-16 halftime lead.

The Spartans will play a nonconference game against Pewaukee on Tuesday and host West Allis Hale (1-12, 2-18) on Friday. Their final regular-season game is March 4 at home against Hamilton (6-6, 10-9).
