Feb. 7, 2010 | 0 comments

Brookfield dropped a 5-2 decision to University School of Milwaukee on Friday and then bounced back and whipped Oconomowoc, 9-1, Saturday.

The Stars put the game away early against Oconomowoc, taking a 4-1 lead in the first period on goals by Sam Myrold (Tommy Hastings assists), Matt Fosdick, Harrison Aghjian (Garrett Johnson, Fosdick) and Patrick O'Brien (Myrold).

Brookfield then scored three times in the second period as Ryan Hicks scored twice (Aghjian assist on second one) and Max Hoffmann (Zak Hypers) added a goal.

The Stars then finished the night with two third-period goals by Johnson and Myrold (Brandt Rogers).

The Stars outshot Oconomowoc 48-14, and goalkeeper Patrick Haumschild had 13 saves.

In the loss to USM the night before, trailing 2-0 after one period, Rogers scored (Johnson) in the second period for the Stars. But the Wildcats tacked on two more goals in the second period for a 4-1 lead.

USM open the third period with a goal and Brookfield countered with a score from Hoffmann at 16:48 to close out the scoring. Stars goalkeeper Doug Gorand had 25 saves.

The Stars travel to Kenosha on Saturday.
