Katelyn Malcore led the way as the Brookfield Central/Brookfield East co-op team defeated Grafton/Cedarburg and Port Washington in a tri-meet at Port Washington on Feb. 4.
Malcore placed first all-around with a 35.275 score. She swept first-place honors in floor (9.4), beam (9.1) and vault (9.15). Taylor Bucholtz placed second all-around (34.374).
"We scored 131.475 points, and this was another great meet for both Katelyn and Taylor," Brookfield coach Carina Garcia said. "I was very happy with Katelyn's floor performance."
Malcore has been using a new routine, and Bucholtz will debut one on Saturday.
"At the Kenosha invite last weekend, she retired her '6-Flags' routine," Garcia said of Malcore, "and she is now performing a new routine to 'Walk This Way.'
"This routine has been a hit with the judges (9.425 at Kenosha invite and 9.4 in the triangular) and a hit with the crowd. We are looking forward to Taylor introducing her new floor routine next weekend at the Harry Nordentoft Invite (Feb. 13)."
