Brookfield East
Three Brookfield East Spartan soccer standouts will continue their careers at the NCAA Division I level. They were expected to sign letters of intent Wednesday.
Luke Goodnetter is committing to play for the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Goodnetter served as team captain on the 2009 team. In 2009, he was selected as the team's MVP, first-team All-Area, first-team all-conference in the GMC and first-team All-State.
Under his leadership the Spartans team has won two WIAA regional championships. He has also led the Elm Grove Soccer Club to two state championships. BEHS head coach Herb Dundun describes him as "a captain, main hub, and engine of this season."
Kate Reigle is committing to Marquette University. Reigle was selected as her team's MVP following her junior season in the spring of 2009, scoring 22 goals and 11 assists along the way. In both the 2008 and 2009 seasons, she was a first-team All-Conference selection in the GMC, and this past year also received second team All-Area and All-State honors.
She helped lead the Spartans to a state semifinal berth her sophomore year and her FC Milwaukee club team has won three of the past four Wisconsin state cup championships.
Rebekah Roller has agreed to play at DePaul University. Roller was a first-team All-Conference, first-team All-Area, and first-team All-State selection following the 2009 season. In her sophomore season (2008), Roller helped lead her team to a conference championship and a state semifinal berth as an honorable-mention all-conference selection. She also excels at gymnastics, competing on the combined Brookfield High School team.
Earlier this winter East celebrated Drew Lied's decision to play tennis at Michigan State.
