The Brookfield Barracudas dropped a 93-90 decision at Waukesha South on Jan. 28 and then won the Bob White Invitational on Saturday.
The Barracudas scored 558 points to run away with the eight-team meet, well ahead of second-place New Berlin Eisenhower/West (408).
Brookfield had three first-place finishes: sophomore William Sass won the 1-meter diving (371.50 points); senior Spencer Rose won the 200 individual medley in 2 minutes, 2.14 seconds, and the 400 freestyle relay took first (3:21.63) behind sophomore Erik Wahlgren, senior Colton Gilmore, senior Theo Leclere and Rose.
The Barracudas also had three second-place finishes: LeClere in the 300 free (1:49.01) and the 100 free (50.38), and the 200 free relay (1:32.66) of Wahlgren, senior Adam Rose, LeClere and Spencer Rose.
Gilmore accounted for both third-place finishes, securing the spot in the 300 free (1:53.94) and the 500 free (4:59.47).
Barracudas coach Bill Twitchell pointed out several individual highlights in the loss to Waukesha South, including that the Barracudas captured the top three spots in diving behind Sass, Alex Behling and Dan Yanasak.
He also praised the performances of Robert Greco in the 100 butterfly (59.95 seconds) and Adam Rose in the 100 fly (57.95).
"We'll be aiming for them again at conference," Twitchell said of the No. 1 ranked in the state Waukesha South Blackshirts following his team's three-point loss.
