Gymnastics: Brookfield nips West Allis
The Brookfield Central/East co-op team nipped the West Allis Central/Hale co-op team on the road on Dec. 16.
Brookfield won, 132.325-130.55, and will now be off for the holidays. The next match is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Jan. 6 at Menomonee Falls.
Elizabeth Tzortzos placed second all around with a score of 34.0252. She took first on vault with a 9.075, third on beam with an 8.65 and third on floor with an 8.8.
Katelyn Malcore placed third all-around with a score of 34.00, third on vault with an 8.95 and second on beam with an 8.9.
Other top finishes for Brookfield were Taylor Bucholtz, who placed first on vault with an 8.9 and Anna Knowles, who placed third on beam with an 8.65.
Brookfield coach Carina Garcia announced some schedule adjustments.
The Whitefish Bay match, canceled because of the weather on Dec. 9, was rescheduled for 6:30 p.m. Jan. 11.
A tri-meet (Nicolet and Homestead) has been scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Jan. 28.
