Brookfield East track and field standout Collin Taylor has officially signed a national letter of intent to compete for the University of Wisconsin-Madison track team, athletic director Corey Golla announced this morning.
Taylor leaves East after having helped establish coach Mike Steiner's boys' team as one of the top track programs in the area.
In three varsity seasons Taylor was a three-time Greater Metro Conference champion and current record holder.
He has established a school record in the high jump at 6-feet, 10 inches this year. He was a five-time state qualifier with two top-five finishes and a state high jump title in 2009.
Taylor was also a contributor to four conference team championships in his years competing for East.
