The Brookfield Central Lancers (4-4-0) remained perfect in their four home matches with a brief, but convincing win over West Allis Central in a Greater Metro Conference match Sept. 11. The match employed the WIAA's new "mercy rule" that ends any match with a 10 goal or more deficit in the 60th minute.
The result was secured early as Brad Jakober registered the quickest hat-trick in school history with three goals in the first 4:25, surpassing the 5:21 mark previously set by Brian Klewin 10 years ago also against West Allis Central. Jakober also finished with two assists, including setting up one of Andrew Nemcek's three goals.
Nemcek added three goals and Erik Oimoen added two goals. Other featured performances were Mitchell Hummel's first goal in his varsity debut and the debut of goalkeeper Michael Nattinger.
The Lancers (5-4-0) improved to 5-0 at home on Saturday, with a non-conference 2-0 win over Appleton North, and Tyler Moore was the Man of the Match.
After a scoreless first-half, Richie Sebzda scored in the 51st minute on a pass from Vuk Latinovich. The defense continued to hold the fort and then Jakober scored in the 73rd minute with an assist by Duncan Favill.
