The Brookfield Stars hockey team named several award winners at the end-of-the-season banquet March 13.
The Stars, a co-op team from Brookfield Central and Brookfield East, finished the year with a 14-9-1 record.
Matt Fosdick led the way, as he did all season, earning first-team all-state defensiveman honors. He was also a first-team Classic 8 all-conference defender, team captain, team Defensive Player of the Year and the WIAA Hobey Baker Character Award (integrity, sportsmanship) winner.
Brandt Rogers (defender) and P.J. Corbett (forward) earned second-team all-conference honors, and Patrick Haumschild (goalie) earned honorable mention honors.
Rogers was also a team captain and earned both the Team Award (dedication, leadership) and the MVP Award.
Corbett earned the Offensive Player of the Year Award and T. Ryan Hicks, the third team captain, earned the Brookfield Pride Award (work ethic, difference maker).
There was also the Newcomer Award (Carter Jenkins), the Hustle Award (Drew Owen), Most Improved Player Award (Brendan Bartelt), Coachable Award (Robbie Fosdick) and Academic Award (Max Hoffman).
