Brookfield East dropped a 91-78 decision to Whitefish Bay at home in the Spartans' only action last week.
"Overall we looked good and swam well," coach Mike Rose said. "We were down several kids with injuries, vacations, etc. With the returns we should be considerably stronger."
The Spartans won two relays: the 200-meter freestyle relay of Carley Stewart, Maggie Lingle, Joanna Swinarski and Sara Brzozowski in 1 minute, 46.16 seconds, and the 400 free relay of Stewart, Melissa Gustafson, Laura Werking and Brzozowski in 3:55.57.
Brzozowski also added first-place finishes in the 200 free (1:55.80) and the 500 free (5:06.83).
Stewart had a first in the 100 free (56.88) and was second in the 50 free (26.30).
Swinarski was second in the 200 free (2:09.07) and the 500 free (5:47.83); Lingle was second in the 100 butterfly (1:02.84) and 100 breaststroke (1:13.92). Werking was second in the 200 individual medley (2:24.74).
"It was a good effort by everyone with some very nice swims from Sara Brzozowski and Joanna Swinarski in the 200 and 500," Rose said. "(We also had) a couple of best-time performances from Laura Werking in the 200 IM, new freshman Maggie Lingle in the 100 fly and Carley Stewart in the 50 free."
The junior varsity won 87-78.
