FLOWER CHILD?
Brookfield Central football coach Jamie Meulemans talked about his pregame preparation before his first game as head coach Friday. "As an offensive
coordinator, all you think about is football. When you're the head coach, you're getting flowers for the moms for Parents' Night. It kind of relaxes you. You look at the whole big picture. It was probably the most relaxed game I ever called. It was an interesting
dynamic for me."
70Total points scored by Brookfield East (42) and Brookfield Central (28) in their season football openers.
QUOTE OF THE WEEK
RUNNING TO DAYLIGHT
Carl Hirsch of Brookfield Central won the sophomore race in 16 minutes, 32.09 seconds, at the Menomonee Falls Grade-Level Invitational on Aug. 26. The race is unusual in that the runners are divided up by grades: seniors, juniors, sophomores and
freshmen. The Lancers boys and girls ran well, but Carl was the only winner.
