City of Brookfield

THEFT

1A 34-year-old man was arrested for retail theft at Metro Market, 17630 W. Bluemound Road, about 1:15 p.m. Jan. 16. Store employees had seen that the man did not scan all his items in the self-checkout lane.

2A leather tool bag containing tools was reported stolen from a construction site in the 12700 block of West Bluemound Road about 9:45 a.m. Jan. 17.

3A laptop computer and a purse were reported stolen from a car in the 13100 block of West Capitol Drive about 12:35 p.m. Jan. 17. Entry was gained by smashing a window.

4A purse was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 13800 block of West Burleigh Road about 7 p.m. Jan. 17. Entry was gained by smashing a window.

5A 19-year-old man was arrested for retail theft after he tried to steal food from Metro Market, 17630 W. Bluemound Road, about 8:30 p.m. Jan. 17.

6Two video screens were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 300 block of South Moorland Road about 7:30 a.m. Jan. 18. Entry was gained by smashing a window, and the video screens were ripped out of the seats they had been mounted in.

7A 17-year-old girl was arrested for retail theft at Boston Store, 15875 W. Bluemound Road, about 4 p.m. Jan. 18.

8A motorist drove off without paying for $51.40 in gasoline from the Open Pantry Gas Station, 17235 W. Bluemound Road, about 3 p.m. Jan. 21.

9A 23-year-old woman was arrested for retail theft after trying to steal alcohol from Sendik's 18985 W. Capitol Drive, about 4:30 p.m. Jan. 21.

10A 25-year-old woman was arrested for retail theft after trying to steal a bottle of perfume from Kohl's, 2315 N. 124th St., about 6:30 p.m. Jan. 21.

11Someone stole a wallet from an unlocked vehicle in the 2200 block of North 166th Street prior to 4:30 p.m. Jan. 22.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

12A 24-year-old woman was arrested for drunken driving near Georges and Greenfield avenues about 1:45 a.m. Jan. 17.

13A 27-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving near Moorland Road and Pinehurst Drive about 11:20 p.m. Jan. 19.

VANDALISM

14Graffiti was reported spray-painted on a trash bin corral at Swanson School, 305 N. Calhoun Road, about 10 a.m. Jan. 15.

OTHER

15A 64-year-old man got into an argument with a manager at Sendik's, 2315 N. 124th St., about noon Jan. 16. The man demanded a refund for food he believed was spoiled. After he received a refund, he got into an argument with the store manager in the parking lot and threatened the manager. He was told that he is not welcome to shop at the store again.

THEFT

16A 22-year-old Waukesha man and a 20-year-old Oconomowoc man were arrested for theft after they were seen trying to get into parked vehicles in the parking lot at Majestic Cinema, 770 Springdale Road, at 1:47 p.m. Jan. 10. Items found in their possession include a GPS, CDs, a portable DVD player, saw blades, a flash light, gloves and a black leather case.

OTHER

17An 18-year-old Waukesha man was arrested for underage drinking and possession of alcohol after he was stopped for driving without headlights at Bluemound and Janacek roads at 12:19 a.m. Jan. 14. His blood-alcohol content was 0.07. An opened 1.75-liter bottle of vodka was found in the vehicle's back seat.

18A 57-year-old Elm Grove man was cited for driving with expired vehicle registration near Wall Street and Elm Grove Road about 8:15 a.m. Jan. 16.

19A 59-year-old Greenfield woman was cited for driving with a defective brake light and having no insurance near Watertown Plank Road and San Jose Drive about 10 a.m. Jan. 16.

20A Waukesha woman was cited for running a red light near Bluemound and Moorland roads about 4:10 p.m. Jan. 16.

22A 38-year-old Milwaukee man was cited for driving with a suspended license near North Avenue and Hollyhock Lane about 12:10 a.m. Jan. 17.

23A Milwaukee woman was cited for driving with a defective headlight and having no insurance near Bluemound and Sunnyslope roads about 9:30 p.m. Jan. 17.

25A 40-year-old Milwaukee woman was cited for speeding, not wearing a seatbelt and having no insurance near 124th Street and Wrayburn Road about 4 p.m. Jan. 18.

Elm Grove police stopped and cited five drivers for speeding only.
