Merle Norman to open spa, add hair services
New location at Brookfield Square will be twice the size

After beautifying customers for more than two decades, Merle Norman Cosmetics plans to double the size of its Brookfield studio.
Moira Hitt, a studio manager, said Merle Norman will move into new retail space at Brookfield Square mall, next to Sears and the Coopers Hawk Winery and Restaurant, by the beginning of February.
The new location, which will be accessible only from the outside of the mall, is twice the size of the current location.
"We've expanded our services a lot over the last couple years," Hitt said. "We do nails, waxing, threading, and now we'll be adding hair services."
A spa also will be among the new amenities, she said.
Contractors have finished exterior work and hope to complete interior renovations over the next month.
Studio owner Renee Hitt has been affiliated with Merle Norman since 1980 and purchased a studio in Brookfield in 1989.
She runs the business with daughters Moira and Erin.
The studio offers complimentary try-on sessions, monthly interactive facials and special-occasion services.
