A Brookfield resident struck a New Berlin Police Department squad car and then drove 95 mph on Calhoun Road in an effort to flee the scene Dec. 10, according to a criminal complaint.
Gerardo Carmona Trillo, 29, has been charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court with fleeing an officer and hit and run. If convicted on both counts, he could face up to four years in prison and $11,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint:
Carmona Trillo was driving north at 10 to 15 mph on Calhoun Road in New Berlin when he rear-ended the squad car near Rogers Drive just after 12:30 a.m. Dec. 10.
The officer activated his emergency lights and attempted to stop Carmona Trillo, but he accelerated to 75 mph as he crossed into the city of Brookfield.
He then accelerated to 95 mph, before slowing to 75 mph to cross Bluemound Road.
The officer was about to end the chase when Carmona Trillo struck a curb just north of Roosevelt Street at 75 mph and pulled over.
A preliminary test revealed his blood-alcohol content was 0.15, and Carmona Trillo also could face a municipal charge of drunken driving.
He made an initial court appearance Dec. 12 and was released on $4,999 cash bond.
He is scheduled to return to court for a preliminary hearing Jan. 5.

He literally nailed a squad car, and then drove off at exceedingly high rates of speed to get away. I already see a DUI (of alcohol, above state legal limit of 0.08), reckless endangerment, hit and run, speeding (more than 30 above the speed limit)...
You would hope that someone like this would be in prison for a long period of time, no bail, and no ability to register a drivers license for up to 10 years.
