Environmental Services wins digital innovation award
Environmental Services, Inc., of Brookfield won a Digital Innovation Award at the recent 2012 Realcomm and IBcon conferences for exceptional intelligent design of its Brookfield headquarters.
The award recognizes ESI for integrating building and operating technologies to achieve extreme efficiency.
The ESI headquarters is only the sixth building in the world and the first in Wisconsin to achieve double Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Platinum standing and has the fifth highest points in the world for the LEED Existing Building: Operations & Maintenance category.
Kolb+Co. wins 2012 County Executive Award
County Executive Daniel P. Vrakas recently announced the 2012 County Executive Award winners recognized for the excellence they demonstrate as a successful organization in the community.
Brookfield-based Kolb+Co. was named business of the year.
An independent panel of judges that includes business executives, community leaders and past award winners, selected the award recipients.
The winners will be honored at the 17th annual County Executive Awards Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 16 at the Country Springs Hotel, 2810 Golf Road in Pewaukee.
Bikram Yoga to open its second studio
The second Bikram Yoga studio location will open Sept. 4 at 17800 W. Bluemound Road in Brookfield.
Bikram Yoga, developed by Bikram Choudhury, is a series of 26 poses practiced in a studio heated to 105 degrees. The heat of the studio helps students perform postures optimally for best physical results. Each of the 26 postures has a different benefit to the body, making the practice a synergistic experience for total body wellness.
Owner Bron Gacki opened Milwaukee's first Bikram Yoga studio in February of 2009. Since then, thousands of Milwaukee area yogis have attended classes at Bikram Yoga Milwaukee's current location, 2084 N. Commerce St., Milwaukee.
Custom Marble Products undergoes a name change
Custom Marble Products, a Brookfield-based regional custom manufacturer established in 1981 is now Pro-Cast, Inc.
The location of the showroom will remain the same, 3313 N. 124th St. in Brookfield.
Pro-Cast is a full-line manufacturer of cast polymer products ranging from kitchen countertops, whirlpools, soaking tubs, fireplace faces and hearths, vanity tops with integral bowls, drop-in bowls, window sills, floor tiles, shower bases, wet walls for tubs and showers, soap/shampoo holders and accessories.
It has grown from a single product line to a complete supplier of products for home and commercial use.
Selzer-Ornst Co. to construct new bank in Brookfield
Selzer-Ornst Co. has been selected by PNC Bank to construct the new branch bank at Underwood Crossing in Brookfield.
Extensive recycling efforts are being undertaken on this project in an effort to pursue LEED certification. The project includes site improvements, utilities, curbs, asphalts, landscaping and the construction of a drive-thru.
