Building a better newspaper

July 21, 2010 | 0 comments

If you were to walk into the newsroom of Brookfield-Elm Grove NOW, you wouldn't see one of those corporate "mission statements" hanging on our walls. Nor would you find editors and reporters sitting in big conference rooms, taking part in strategic planning sessions.

That's because the mission of this newspaper is pretty simple: provide readers with the best possible coverage of Brookfield and Elm Grove every week.

Whether it's finding out what new businesses are opening on Bluemound Road, staying on top of what the Common Council is up to, or getting the latest on the East and Central prep sports scene, we're here to provide you with everything you need to know about the community.

We think we're doing a good job … but that doesn't mean we can't get better.

That's why we're conducting a reader survey in which we're asking your opinions on what we're doing right - and more important - where we need to improve.

Visit BrookfieldNOW.com/survey and you'll see a handful of questions that ask what you like and don't like about the newspaper. We'll also seek your input on a few new features that we're considering adding to the paper down the road.

The survey will take about 10 minutes, and everyone who completes it will be entered in a random drawing for a $25 gift certificate for the Brookfield Farmers Market.
