14-year-old boy goes for a joyride

July 19, 2010 | 0 comments

After weaving and braking erratically in the 1000 block of Highland Drive about 9:30 p.m. July 13, a 14-year-old Brookfield boy received a citation for driving his friends around.

According to an Elm Grove police report:

To evade police, the boy turned into a lot in the 14700 block of Watertown Plank Road and stopped. He then started to exit the lot, but stopped again. Police approached the vehicle and observed the two occupants - the boy and a 16-year-old Brookfield girl - in the front trying to switch seats. There were four occupants in the vehicle; two 14-year-old Brookfield boys were in the back seats.

Police also found alcohol in the vehicle. The girl received a citation for underage possession of alcohol and permitting an unauthorized person to operate a vehicle.

Police contacted the children's parents to pick them up.
