Celebration of Excellence was the theme chosen by the Waukesha Education Foundation to recognize student achievement in Waukesha schools. A presentation recently in the Waukesha West High School gymnasium demonstrated work created by students throughout the district.
The event provided an opportunity for the foundation to raise funds, which it donates to the schools for projects that could not otherwise be undertaken. Through the funds raised at the past three Celebrations of Excellence, the WEF has been able to donate more than $100,000 to 50 program areas.
Students passed food trays to guests, who could also help themselves at a chocolate fountain. Chairing the event was Betsy Crosswaite, assisted by Carol Lombardi, Kris Fahje, Lyn Schulz, Lisa Boerschinger, Phyllis Boerschinger, Phyllis Lardinois, Kelly Walt, Kathy Runte and Sue Lacy.
