Vote for Glen Allgaier for School Board

March 12, 2010 | 0 comments

Public Forum:

I urge Elmbrook School District voters to re-elect Glen Allgaier to the Board of Education.

Glen will continue to use his considerable personal skills and professional business management background to provide leadership to the School Board as it faces upcoming difficult decisions.

Glen knows there are no simple fixes to the problems of declining student enrollment, declining state aid, increasing costs of the district's educational programs and the increasing dependence on local property taxes to fund our schools. He has led the school district to study and plan ahead on a five- to 10-year basis while it explores solutions to protect our educational programs and district facilities. Glen's guiding question - "How will this help the education of our children?" - requires a focus on sustainable programming based upon long-term funding to support those programs.

Glen has educated himself on every facet of School Board responsibility. He attends and participates fully in all board meetings as well as meetings of the many citizen and administrative committees that are studying school district issues. Glen has reached out to our city and village officials to promote their support for our schools, and he seeks out and welcomes citizen input and involvement in district issues. Glen understands that we are all partners in the education of our children.

The district is fortunate to have benefited from Glen's commitment to our School Board and from his serious, studied approach on behalf of our children and public education. His careful analysis and discussion of issues will continue to guide the Board of Education into making sound decisions regarding our Elmbrook schools.

Now, we need to do our part to thank and vote to re-elect this experienced and valued member of our Board of Education.
