School work progressing on schedule

March 10, 2010 | 0 comments

Construction at Brookfield Central and East high schools is proceeding according to plan, a construction official says.

Workers are on schedule with classroom renovations, which have been undertaken six at a time. Students and teachers assigned to the rooms being renovated meet in alternate locations for about six weeks until work is finished.

Rob Stieg, principal at Boldt Consulting Services and owner's representative for Elmbrook School District, said workers are getting better with each set of rooms they complete, finishing the renovations quicker and working better with students and staff.

"We're moving along right where we should be," he said.

During spring break, April 2 to 9, work will begin on the main entrances at both schools. That means students will need to use temporary entrances to access the buildings from April 12 to the end of the school year.
