Allgaier strongest choice for Elmbrook Area II seat

March 3, 2010 | 0 comments

Public Forum:

Glen Allgaier has my support in his run for re-election to the Elmbrook Board of Education, for a whole host of reasons. These include the following:

• He is prepared and seasoned. His education and career have enabled him to build an outstanding skill-set that ranges from personal/personnel management, operations and fiscal discipline. He has a solid ability to be a conceptual thinker/planner and a practical implementer. His presence has caused the board to make reasoned choices that balance the requirements of student learning with fiscal responsibility.

• He is intelligent, perseverant, thoughtful and courteous. He thinks through every item on the board agenda, and sifts through the clouds that surround every issue. He stays on point until an issue is clear. He is always in search of accurate information that explains any issue and he is careful and polite in his discourse with fellow board members, the administration and all who come in contact with him.

• He is the hardest worker on the board. When I co-chaired the High Schools Facilities Task Force, Glen attended every meeting, and he asked probing questions and freely joined the debate. He also served on a subcommittee that provided a comprehensive Facilities Capacity Assessment that was vital in preparing a high schools recommendation to the board. Glen is the force that caused preparation of a comprehensive five-year financial plan for the district. As a result, the board has appointed an Enrollment Management Study Team, focused on providing guidance to the board on revenue generation and/or expense reduction to achieve fiscal stability. Once again, Glen attends every meeting, provides his counsel and asks the tough questions.

Glen Allgaier has my support. I urge you give him yours.
